On August 28, 2024, Mr. Phatcharaphon Songsri, a third-year student in Geo-Informatics, College of Computer, Khon Kaen University, received a silver plaque in the project “Say No Thank You: Season 6 Click for the World, Easy to Do, Reduce by Ourself” for the year 2023. He also received a plaque from the Children and Youth Network on Climate Change and the Environment for the year 2024 at the CCE Children & Youth Forum, organized by the Children and Youth Network on Climate Change and the Environment (CCE Children & Youth) in collaboration with the Department of Climate Change and Environment at TK Palace & Convention Hotel, Bangkok. The event was attended by more than 350 participants, including presidents and executives from various universities, advisors to conservation clubs, and youth networks that play an important role in environmental care, such as the university youth network (Green Youth), the children and youth network from the Supanimit Foundation of Thailand.
On 2 July 2024, at the Special Reception, 6th floor, Sirikunakorn Building, HE Dr. Angela Jane Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, and a delegation from the Australian Ambassador to Thailand met with the executives of Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, along with Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Atcharawan Topakngam, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, who jointly welcomed the Ambassador. During the meeting, discussions were held on cooperation in education, research, culture, economics and society, and other future cooperation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, revealed that Khon Kaen University has strong academic cooperation with Australian institutions. There are many academic cooperation activities and more than 80 lecturers who graduated from leading Australian institutions. In addition, there are research cooperation activities in various fields. Especially in the medical field, such as the KKU International Phenome Center (KKUIPC) in collaboration with Murdoch University.
