On April 3, 2025, Mr. Surapol Petchwara, Vice President of Khon Kaen University Council, and Assistant Professor Dr. Denpong Sudphakdi, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Digital Affairs, along with deans and representatives from faculties and related units of Khon Kaen University, were honored to attend the “Lao Digital Week 2025”, which was held from April 2–6, 2025 at the National Convention Center, Vientiane Capital, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The objective was to jointly showcase the role and potential of Khon Kaen University’s digital technology at the regional level under the cooperation framework with the Ministry of Technology and Communications of the Lao PDR, which is an important strategic partner. The Lao Digital Week was organized under the slogan “Developing the digital infrastructure of the Lao PDR to be strong and sustainable”, with 3 main pillars: Digital Government, Digital Society, and Digital Economy. The event was attended by senior leaders, academics, educational institutions, private companies, and technology experts from many countries. The event was honored to have Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao PDR, preside over the opening ceremony. Joy! KKU designs KKU Emergency Alert to warn of earthquakes via Google Chat

The Department of Education and Digital, Khon Kaen University, is moving forward with the use of the KKU IntelSphere intelligent system to design the KKU Emergency Alert, which will warn of earthquakes no more than 2,000 kilometers away from Khon Kaen University via Google Chat. This is due to the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar. Some of the tremors were felt in Thailand, including in Khon Kaen Province, especially inside tall buildings at Khon Kaen University on March 28. On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Denpong Sudphakdee, Khon Kaen University’s Vice President for Education and Digital, revealed that Khon Kaen University has applied the KKU IntelSphere technology to create the KKU Emergency Alert earthquake warning system by pulling data from the US Geological Survey (USGS), a geological research agency in the United States, to send alerts via the KKU Google Chat system. As for the KKU Emergency Alert, the alert radius is set to 2,000 kilometers from Khon Kaen University, along with the intensity of the earthquake for which an alert is desired. The initial setting is 4.5 magnitude.

On February 19, 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Data First Company Limited. The ceremony was honored by executives from both agencies, including Dr. Narisara Palusuk, Deputy Dean for Administration and Corporate Image, Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, along with representatives from leading educational institutions, totaling more than 12 universities nationwide, and Ms. Kesakaew Ittikul, Managing Director of Dada First Company Limited, who joined the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding. The Khon Kaen University Council Office organized a Generative AI Essentials for Organizational Boards workshop to set appropriate directions and policies for utilizing Generative AI for maximum benefit. The workshop was held at Sirikunakorn Room 3, 2nd floor, Sirikunakorn Building, attended by the council committee, senior executives, vice presidents, and advisors to Khon Kaen University on March 5, 2025. The training was honored by distinguished speakers including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanachat Numnon, a distinguished member of the university council, who gave a lecture on "Understanding Generative AI: Capabilities and Limitations" and Asst. Between 4-5 March 2025, the Radio Unit, Corporate Communications Division, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University, organized a workshop on developing an online radio program system (ZOOM program), program content development, and program management skills for internal and external radio program hosts under the project to develop the potential of the radio program host network of Khon Kaen University Radio Station FM 103 MHz. The event was presided over by Mr. Natsamol Thanakulrangsri, Vice President for Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications, Khon Kaen University. The event received attention from the Khon Kaen University radio program host network, both internal and external, with approximately 50 people participating in the training at the Chemkhwan Meeting Room, 1st Floor, Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen University. The first day of the training session in the morning included a workshop on developing an online radio program system (ZOOM program) by Mr. Narasit Pleangratsamee, an expert in audiovisual studies, Office of Educational Innovation, Khon Kaen University. On March 4, 2025, the Education and Digital Division, Khon Kaen University, organized a workshop called “AI: The Future is Now. Unlocking the Power of AI for a Better Life” to prepare lecturers and staff of Khon Kaen University to cope with the future in an era where AI plays an important role in all aspects and to enhance AI skills to increase work efficiency and improve quality of life. There were over 100 participants at Room M301, 3rd floor, Integrated Learning and Basic Skills Building. This training was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanachat Numnon, an AI expert, who came to inspire and inspire participants to see the true potential of AI through a lecture on The Transformative Power of AI in Higher Education, while Asst.
