มข.คว้ารางวัลคุณธรรมความโปร่งใสภาครัฐ(ITA)ในวันต่อต้านคอร์รัปชันสากล

เมื่อวันที่ 9 ธันวาคม 2562 สำนักงานคณะกรรมการป้องกันและปราบปรามการทุจริตแห่งชาติ จัดงาน “วันต่อต้านคอร์รัปชันสากล ประเทศไทย จังหวัดขอนแก่น” และพิธีมอบรางวัลการประเมินคุณธรรมและความโปร่งใสในการดำเนินงานของหน่วยงานภาครัฐประจำปีงบประมาณ พ.ศ.2562 หรือ ITA Awards โดยมีนายปานทอง สระคูพันธ์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดขอนแก่นเป็นประธานในงาน ในการนี้ผศ.นพ.ธรา  ธรรมโรจน์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายบริหาร มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น  ผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นร่วมเป็นเกียรติในงาน และเป็นตัวแทนมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นรับรางวัลดังกล่าว ซึ่งภายในงานมีบุคลากรจาก ภาคีเครือข่ายภาครัฐ ภาครัฐวิสาหกิจเอกชน ภาคประชาสังคม และหน่วยงานที่ได้รับรางวัลเข้าร่วมกว่า 1,000 คน ณ ห้องประชุมพีรสิทธิ์ คำนวณศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น การจัดงาน “วันต่อต้านคอร์รัปชันสากล ประเทศไทย จังหวัดขอนแก่น” และพิธีมอบรางวัล การประเมินคุณธรรมและความโปร่งใสในการดำเนินงานของหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ประจำปี งบประมาณ พ.ศ.2562  (ITA Awards) มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อแสดงเจตนารมณ์ของผู้นำการเมืองที่ต้องการร่วมกับภาคีทุกภาคส่วนมุ่งมั่นในการแก้ไขปัญหาการทุจริตอย่างต่อเนื่อง และปลุกกระแสสังคมที่ไม่ทนต่อการทุจริต พร้อมทั้งต้องการให้รางวัลฯเป็นเครื่องมือในการส่งเสริมด้านคุณธรรมและความโปร่งใสของหน่วยงานภาครัฐให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น  รวมไปถึงพัฒนาระบบเทคโนโลยีที่สนับสนุนการประเมินเพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลและบริหารจัดการข้อมูลอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ทำให้สามารถประเมินได้อย่างรวดเร็วและเป็นมาตรฐานเดียวกัน ซึ่งผลการประเมินจะสะท้อนให้หน่วยงานภาครัฐได้ทราบระดับคุณธรรมและความโปร่งใส เพื่อนำไปสู่การปรับปรุงการดำเนินงานให้มีคุณธรรมความโปร่งใสเป็นไปตามหลักธรรมาภิบาลให้สูงขึ้น นายปานทอง สระคูพันธ์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดขอนแก่น ประธานในพิธีกล่าวว่า  ปัญหาการทุจริตคอรัปชั่นของประเทศไทย เป็นปัญหาที่สั่งสมมานาน และเป็นปัญหาร้ายแรงที่ส่งผลเสียหายต่อประเทศ ทั้งในด้านเศรษฐกิจ […]

KKBS students win ASEAN event design competition

The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, would like to congratulate the team of students representing the faculty who won the award from the “CMO Group Creative Contest” project, a creative idea competition stage for event design concepts organized by the leading business group in integrated event management and marketing communications in the ASEAN region, with a total prize of 50,000 baht. The competition is divided into 2 topics: Turning a sub-district product into an unforgettable product launch legend and creating a local Thai musical culture into a great international fun. The results of the final round of the competition showed that the “KKUxCREATIVE” team, a student representative from Khon Kaen University, consisting of Mr. Kantapong Meesingh, Ms. Mutita Promdee, and Ms. Sawitree Suradanai, 4th year students in the Bachelor of Business Administration program, majoring in Service Business and Event Management, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Thongrawee Silanoi, won first place in the event design concept competition under the topic “Creating a local Thai musical culture into a great international fun” and received a cash prize of 25,000 baht. KKU students receive a Youth Leadership Development Grant Winner from the U.S. Embassy.

Organized the activity "Understand Me, Understand You", a project to promote self-awareness, know how to deal with bullying, reduce stress and mental health problems in youth. Khon Kaen University students received the Grant Winner scholarship in the Northeast region as a project prize of 30,000 baht from the U.S. Embassy in Thailand under the youth leadership development project Lead Up: USG Alumni Leadership Training Seminar organized by the U.S. Government Scholarship Exchange Program in Thailand (USG alumni) on October 19-20, 2019 to develop the potential of youth to become leaders in modern society and be able to apply facilitative leadership by training them to be project leaders to create alternatives for society from a new perspective, understand, access and can actually do it in line with the Human-Centered Design and Participatory Budgeting concepts, making our society more livable and leading to creative and sustainable development. Khon Kaen University awards honorary doctorates and honorary awards for the year 2019

12 Persons Who Have Contributed to Society Received Honorary Doctorates and Honorary Awards On 4 December 2019, Khon Kaen University held a congratulatory event for the 12 recipients of honorary doctorates, the Golden Phra That Phanom Award, the Outstanding Alumni Award, the Sri Modin Daeng Award, and the Sri Kalapruek Award for 2019 at Orchid Ballroom 1, Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid Hotel. The event was honored by Dr. Techa Bunnag, Vice Chairman of the University Council, who gave an opening speech and congratulations, and Associate Professor Dr. Phaychanchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President of Khon Kaen University, who gave a congratulatory speech and presented souvenirs. In addition, there was a donation of 1,000,000 baht to the Srinakarin Day Fund under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. “Life Still Has Hope With the power of giving” by Mr. Sunthorn Arunanonchai, a member of the Khon Kaen University Council, and Associate Professor Dr. Songsak Kiatchusakul, acting dean of the Faculty of Medicine, as a representative to receive the donation. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening of the “Wittayawipas Building”, Faculty of Science, and laid the foundation stone for the Faculty of Medicine’s Excellence Specialized Medical Service Center building. At 4:00 PM on December 4, 2019, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening of the “Wittayawipas Building”, Faculty of Science. When the royal motorcade arrived at the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, at 4:00 PM, Dr. Somsak Jangtrakul, Governor of Khon Kaen Province, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President of Khon Kaen University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somkiat Srijaranai, Dean of the Faculty of Science Khon Kaen University, lecturers, civil servants, staff, students, and the president of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Science welcomed His Majesty, presented garlands, souvenirs, catalogues, and money for royal charity according to His Majesty’s wishes, respectively. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President of Khon Kaen University, reported on the construction of the Wittayawipas Building. His Majesty then proceeded to the platform and pressed the electric button to uncover the “Wittayawipas Building” sign. His Majesty then viewed the exhibition. The Wittayawipas Building is a 5-storey reinforced concrete building with a usable area of 24,563 square meters. It was built to replace the SC02 building, which was in a dilapidated condition. Therefore, a budget was allocated for its construction in the fiscal year 2016.

KKU's world rankings move up in the field of medicine and health.

Khon Kaen University has moved up in the world rankings for medicine and health, according to the announcement of the “Times Higher Education” rankings. “Times Higher Education” or “THE”, a world university ranking organization from the UK, has announced the results of the 2020 World University Rankings for Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health, which uses reliable and rigorous performance indicators that are the same indicators in the overall rankings of universities worldwide. THE has adjusted the weighting of scores to be appropriate for each subject. The ranking focuses on leading universities in medicine, dentistry and other health subjects. This year’s university rankings include 775 universities, up from 721 last year. The results show that there are 7 Thai universities in the world rankings in this subject: Mahidol University, Chulalongkorn University, Khon Kaen University, Chiang Mai University, Prince of Songkla University, Naresuan University and Thammasat University. As a result of the 2020 rankings, Khon Kaen University has moved up to 501–600 in the world and is ranked 3rd in Thailand, along with Chiang Mai University and Prince of Songkla University.

Thailand has only 3 higher education institutions ranked in the world for Education by the latest Times Higher Education rankings. On November 15, 62, Times Higher Education, or often called THE for short, a leading university ranking institution from the UK, has announced the results of the world university rankings in the field of educational personnel production or Education for the year 2020 (World University Rankings 2020 by subject: education). There are only 3 universities in Thailand that are ranked, including: 1. Chulalongkorn University, ranked 126–150 in the world, which is a decrease from last year's ranking of 101–125 in the world. 2. Mahidol University, ranked 151–175 in the world, which is an improvement from last year's ranking of 251–300 in the world. 3. Khon Kaen University, ranked 401+.

KKU opens SMC, a center for excellent medical services, including premium services.

       Khon Kaen University, by the Faculty of Medicine, Srinagarind Hospital, has opened a Special Medical Center (SMC). The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President of Khon Kaen University, who gave an opening speech. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Songsak Kiatsukul, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, gave a report. The event was also honored by the Consuls of China, Laos, Vietnam, and France in Khon Kaen Province, executives, lecturers, and staff who joined in congratulating the event at Somdech Phra Srinagarindra Building (Building SW.1) on November 11, 2019. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Songsak Kiatsukul, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, revealed that the Special Medical Center (SMC) is fully equipped with medical personnel who have combined specialized expertise with modern technology that has high potential to diagnose complex diseases to provide specialized medical services, including specialized clinics for brain and spine surgery and centers of excellence in endoscopic surgery. and the Center of Excellence in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Worship ceremony for Chao Pho Modin Daeng, the sacred object of Khon Kaen University

KKU students pray for blessings from Chao Por Modin Daeng to protect, bring good fortune, build mental and physical strength to work hard for Khon Kaen University. On 14 November 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President of Khon Kaen University, along with KKU executives led staff and students to join the annual Chao Por Modin Daeng worship ceremony in 2019 at the Chao Por Modin Daeng Shrine Hall. The Chao Por Modin Daeng worship ceremony is held annually by the Student Development and Nong Khai Campus Division, the Student Development and Alumni Relations Division, and the Alumni Association. Assoc. Prof. Piensak Phakdi, Vice President for Student Development and Nong Khai Campus, said that Khon Kaen University first held the Chao Por Modin Daeng Shrine raising ceremony in June 1966. Since then, the Chao Por Modin Daeng Shrine has been highly revered by university students and the general public. This practice has been passed down from generation to generation. All freshmen must perform the ceremony to pay homage to Chao Por Modin Daeng to become his children. In 2004, the Khon Kaen University executives unanimously resolved to construct a new Sala Dharma Sathan Chao Por Modin Daeng and assigned the Alumni Relations Office, Student Development and Alumni Relations Division to lead the operation. With a sense of gratitude towards the educational institution, the Chao Por Modin Daeng Worship Ceremony is a traditional event that Khon Kaen University members have jointly organized every year to show the respect and faith of personnel, students, and the general public towards Chao Por Modin Daeng, who is considered a spiritual refuge for those who come to pay homage.
