ASEAN Teacher Research Institute promotes professional development of teachers through Picture Books for Thai children's learning.

On 22-23 February 2025, at Meeting Room 2302, Building 2 of the Institute for Research and Development of the Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University, organized a workshop on “The Magic of Picture Books and Children’s Learning”, with Assistant Professor Dr. Pongthanat Saeju, Director of the Institute for Research and Development of the Teaching Profession for ASEAN, welcoming the participants, along with Assistant Professor Skaoduean Satham, Deputy Director of the Institute, the project owner, and the Institute’s personnel. The event was attended by 60 teachers, teachers, student teachers, and interested persons. The objectives of the event were to develop the use of picture books for children in both Thai and English for teachers, student teachers, and interested persons, to promote critical thinking activities in children, leading to sustainable development of thinking, and to promote reading in children and youth, leading to sustainable development in society. The Director of the Institute for Research and Development of the Teaching Profession for ASEAN said, “As an agency committed to developing the teaching profession, we realize that education in the present era must adapt to the concept of sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs). KKU organizes a big event, opening a space for learning mathematics through the 6th MATHEMATICS FESTIVAL Thailand.

Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Development of Teacher Professionalism for ASEAN, the Research Center for Mathematics Education, Khon Kaen University, the Association of Mathematics Education, the Foundation for the Development of Thinking Skills, and the Moscow Center for Continuous Mathematical Education, organized the 6th MATHEMATICS FESTIVAL in Thailand on December 23, 2024 at the Institute for Research and Development of Teacher Professionalism for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University. This is a collaboration between Russia and Thailand to provide students with experiences and learn new perspectives on mathematics, enhance their experience in learning mathematics in another aspect that is art and beautiful, and expand the scope of mathematics learning development in the form of the Mathematics Festival, which has been held in Moscow, Russian Federation, for more than 40 years. The Institute for Research and Development of Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University, organized the assessment of business mathematics skills as a pilot project of the Open Badge Business Mathematics Skill Assessment System (Certification for Business-Oriented Mathematics skill): CBMS on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Phot Sarasin Building, Khon Kaen University. ASEAN Teachers' Institute promotes the solution of Carbon Neutral issues through experiences from the Japanese private sector

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Thailand time), the Institute for Research and Development of Teaching Professions for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with Toyo System Co., Ltd., The Mathematics Certification Institute of Japan, and the Foundation for Education for the Development of Thinking Skills, organized a seminar called “University-Industry Collaboration Seminar” under the topic of “Jointly Solving Environmental Problems According to TOYO SYSTEM’s Practices to Achieve Carbon Neutrality”. The seminar was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Maitree Inprasit, a high-performance researcher from the Institute for Research and Development of Teaching Professions for ASEAN, who spoke about the origin and significance of the event. “This seminar is an important opportunity for students who will become teachers in the future, which will have a wide impact on the lives of Thai students. Khon Kaen University, through the ASEAN Teacher Research Institute, discusses with provinces and network partners to jointly develop the quality of education in Khon Kaen Province.

Khon Kaen University, by the ASEAN Teacher Professional Research and Development Institute, has received support for the implementation of the project to drive the local development of schools in Khon Kaen Province or Teacher and School Quality Area: TSQA Khon Kaen, supported by the Office of Teacher and Educational Institution Quality Development, Equitable Education Fund (EEF), which has an operation plan in the form of a process to drive the development of school quality and education quality with participation of network partners in Khon Kaen Province, with the parent agency or the agency under the supervision of the school as the main supporter of resources, budget, and management by increasing quality, extending development and expanding results with the network, along with creating sustainability. There are two main principles of driving with important mechanisms: 1) Local level mechanisms: district/province (Meso) and 2) School level mechanisms (Micro). Khon Kaen University, by the Institute for Research and Development of Teaching Profession for ASEAN and the Research Center for Mathematics Education, the Mathematical Education Association and the Foundation for Education for the Development of Thinking Skills, together with the Moscow Center for Continuous Mathematical Education, organized the 5th Mathematics Festival Thailand in 2023 on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Institute for Research and Development of Teaching Profession for ASEAN building. ASEAN Teachers Institute drives professional development, continues collaboration among TLSOA innovation users, school administrators and educational supervisors across Thailand

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, the Institute for Research and Development of the ASEAN Teacher Profession, in collaboration with the Buddharaksa Foundation, the Center for Research in Mathematics Education, and the Foundation for the Development of Thinking Skills Education, organized a seminar for educational institution administrators and a training workshop for educational supervisors under the innovation of classroom education with an open approach (Thailand Lesson Study incorporated with Open Approach: TLSOA) at Meeting Room 2301, Institute for Research and Development of the ASEAN Teacher Profession, Building 2. This event has been held for the 9th consecutive year to create a network of cooperation between school directors who use the innovation of classroom education, as well as a group of educational supervisors who are driving the use of the innovation, along with teachers who use the innovation. The objectives are to drive professional development and create networks for teachers and educational personnel, as well as to develop schools in the project into learning centers for developing the teaching profession with the innovation of classroom education with an open approach (TLSOA). At 08.45 a.m., Associate Professor Dr. Maitree Inprasit, Vice President for Education and Academic Services, gave a report. The event was honored to have Professor Dr. Montchai Duangjinda, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, as the chairman of the opening ceremony.
