On March 12, 2022, the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University and the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University organized the “Wirot Srisuro Award” for 2022, honored by Assoc. Prof. Thiti Hengrasamee, former dean and founder of the Faculty of Architecture, as the chairman of the award ceremony, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuphong Thongkamsamut, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Mr. Chalermpol Kittikan, President of the Faculty of Architecture Alumni Association, Mr. Chana Sampalang, President of the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage, along with the award judging committee, executives, lecturers, academics, artists, and architects at the Multipurpose Building (Sim), Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University. The “Wirot Srisuro Award” was organized to honor and encourage those who have played a role and made contributions to the conservation and creation of architectural art, especially in the northeastern region, as well as to honor and commemorate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirot Srisuro, co-founder of the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University. He is also an architect and industrial designer who pioneered the academic and preservation circles of local architecture in the Northeast. In 2022, this is the first time that such an award has been given. The “Wirot Srisuro Award” for 2022 was presented to Mr. Numon Pratumwan, the chief craftsman who designed and carved the pediment of the Sim of Wat Pho Si.
