On 7 July 2026, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University and Southwest University, People’s Republic of China, organised the “Chinese Language Fun Fair” at Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, Primary Division. The event formed part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University under the theme “乐享中文 趣创未来”, meaning “Enjoy Chinese, Create the Future.”
The event aimed to promote Chinese language learning and cultural understanding among young learners through creative and interactive activities. Students explored Chinese language, arts, traditions, and culture in an enjoyable learning environment designed to spark curiosity, involvement, and hands-on learning.
Assoc. Prof. Issara Kanjug, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, delivered welcoming remarks to representatives from Southwest University, the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University, school administrators, teachers, students, and participants. He emphasised that over the past 20 years, the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University has served as a bridge of educational, linguistic, and cultural friendship between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China.
He also highlighted that the institute has long supported Chinese language education for students, teachers, and communities, particularly in the northeastern region of Thailand. The “Chinese Language Fun Fair,” he noted, reflects a modern approach to learning that lets students enjoy Chinese through real experience while developing an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Mr. Dai Yuanhong, representative of Southwest University, also praised the continued collaboration between Khon Kaen University, the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University, and Southwest University. He stated that the activity brought Chinese language and culture into schools in a creative, accessible way that let students learn through fun and meaningful experiences.
Throughout the event, students took part in a variety of Chinese language and cultural activity stations. These activities let them explore the charm of Chinese language, arts, traditions, and cultural practices through hands-on participation. The atmosphere was lively and engaging throughout, with students showing great interest and enthusiasm.
The “Chinese Language Fun Fair” not only marked the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University, but also reflected the strong partnership among the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University, Southwest University, and Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, Primary Division. The event reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing language learning, cultural exchange, and sustainable Thai–Chinese educational cooperation.
