The supervisory authorities inspect KKU’s personal data protection and cybersecurity measures for the 2026 fiscal year to ensure strict legal compliance.
On Tuesday, 26 May 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) welcomed an assessment delegation from the Office of the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA). The delegation visited the campus to inspect and provide guidance on measures to prevent personal data breaches from cyber threats for the 2026 fiscal year. The assessment took place at the Sarasin Meeting Room, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.
The assessment visit was co-led by the Office of the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), represented by Second Lieutenant Thanandorn Samransuk, Director of the Surveillance and Situation Monitoring Department and Acting Director of the Audit and Supervision Bureau, and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), led by Air Vice Marshal Thatchai Makphanit, Director of the Cyber Security Strategic Policy Bureau, and Lieutenant Colonel Yanin Suraphanphairoj, Director of the Strategic Policy Department. The inspection and consultation sessions were conducted in accordance with the Regulator Checklist framework, which comprehensively covers 10 aspects of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) alongside cybersecurity regulations.
Khon Kaen University’s delegation was led by Dr. Kitt Tientanopajai, Assistant to the President for Digital and the university’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), and Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications. They were joined by executives from the Faculty of Medicine, led by Associate Professor Pathorn Piromchai, M.D., Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development, and Assistant Professor Paitoon Prachinawanat, M.D., Assistant Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development, alongside the Office of Digital Technology, led by Associate Professor Pipat Reungsang, Ph.D. The university representatives welcomed the delegation, exchanged insights regarding KKU’s data protection measures, and received valuable recommendations from both the PDPC and the NCSA.
Khon Kaen University will utilise the recommendations provided by the regulatory authorities to further develop its systems and elevate its personal data protection standards. This continuous enhancement aims to reinforce confidence among staff, students, and the general public utilizing the university’s services, while maintaining full compliance with legally mandated standards.
