The President of Khon Kaen University presents blessings and guidance to the staff athletic delegation ahead of the 42nd Thailand University Staff Games in Nakhon Nayok.
On 25 May 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) held an official orientation and blessing ceremony for athletes and officials prior to their departure for the 42nd Thailand University Staff Games, known as the “Srinakharinwirot Games”. Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the ceremony to deliver his guidance and blessings. The event was attended by university executives, faculty members, athletes, and officials at the Peerasit Kamnuansilpa Meeting Room, College of Local Administration (COLA), Khon Kaen University.
Khon Kaen University has deployed a total delegation of 395 athletes and officials to participate in 15 sports categories. These categories comprise football, futsal, aerobics, swimming, badminton, basketball, tennis, sepak takraw, golf, petanque, athletics, volleyball, ballroom dancing, e-sports, and table tennis. The competition is scheduled to take place at Srinakharinwirot University, Ongkharak District, Nakhon Nayok Province, from 27 May to 4 June 2026.
Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, stated, “Participating in sports and physical exercise not only fosters organizational unity but also serves as an excellent form of medicine. It is highly gratifying that Khon Kaen University possesses personnel who are talented, dedicated to sports, and capable of bringing prestige to our institution. Winning or losing is a natural aspect of sports; what matters most is your determination and, equally important, the friendship gained through sportsmanship. I urge all athletes and officials to care for one another, build good relationships with colleagues from other institutions, and travel safely. May you return with victory and pride for the Khon Kaen University community.”
Meanwhile, Warrant Officer Suphanat Siriaisoon Setthapongkorn, Chairman of the Faculty and Staff Senate, reported, “On behalf of the athletes and officials, I would like to extend our gratitude to the President for supporting the budget and honouring us by presiding over this ceremony. The primary goal of participating in this tournament is to foster unity and bring prestige and honour to Khon Kaen University—a mission that all participating athletes and personnel clearly recognize. Every athlete serves as an ambassador of goodwill from Khon Kaen University. Therefore, we would like to ask for your encouragement for our athletic delegation as they compete to bring victory and reputation back to our university.”
Beyond the competition results, the vital mission of participating in this tournament is to publicize the university’s prestige and represent the core spirit of Khon Kaen University. All athletes and officials are fully prepared and committed to bringing honour back to Khon Kaen University with utmost pride.
