Khon Kaen University has taken a proactive step towards sustainable development by organizing a strategic meeting for its public relations and corporate communications network. On Wednesday, 20 May 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 hrs, the Enterprise and Societal Sustainability pillar, through the Center for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability Promotion, collaborated with the Communications Division and the Educational Quality Development Division to host the “Khon Kaen University News Writing and Corporate Communications Network Meeting”. Held under the theme “Integrating SDGs into Public Relations News Production and Improving the News Dissemination System”, the event took place at the Theatre Meeting Room, 1st Floor, Science Museum Building, Khon Kaen University.

The meeting was strictly honored by Professor Thidarut Boonmars, D.V.M., Ph.D., Vice President for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability at Khon Kaen University. The primary objectives of this initiative were to establish a unified understanding of KKU’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) communication strategy and to enhance the capacity of news writers and information media producers. This ensures that institutional news content accurately, clearly, and effectively links university operations to global sustainability metrics. Furthermore, the event aimed to strengthen the collaborative communications network among various faculties and internal offices.
“The policy driving KKU’s SDGs and the intricate details of these goals are absolutely essential for our communications teams to understand so they can effectively bridge them with public relations,” Professor Boonmars stated.
The Vice President emphasized the critical role of corporate communications in conveying the university’s missions and operational achievements to the public. She highlighted that news presentations must tangibly reflect the university’s progress toward sustainability goals across education, research, academic services, and societal development, expressing firm confidence that this content-posting and brand-image network will be a powerful driving force for KKU’s sustainable future.

Additionally, the Communications Division led a knowledge-sharing session titled “News Dissemination via the Khon Kaen University Website”. This session focused on modernizing and elevating the university’s information dissemination standards, ensuring that public news reaches target audiences comprehensively while remaining aligned with global sustainability frameworks. This digital improvement is expected to elevate the corporate image and reinforce public perception of KKU as an educational institution dedicated to driving society toward sustainability.
Throughout the meeting, participants from diverse faculties and departments actively exchanged constructive ideas, professional experiences, and communication guidelines. This interactive atmosphere successfully strengthened the university’s network of communicators, equipping them to collaborate efficiently and cohesively in the digital era.

The organization of this meeting reflects Khon Kaen University’s ongoing commitment to developing its corporate communication systems to keep pace with societal transformations. By fostering high-quality news production and dissemination, KKU continues to build public awareness, understanding, and societal engagement regarding its active contributions to sustainable development.
Financially and strategically, this initiative directly aligns with multiple Sustainable Development Goals, including:
-
SDG 4 (Quality Education): Facilitated through the capacity-building of personnel in communication and collaborative institutional learning.
-
SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): Achieved by advancing efficient news dissemination systems and digital corporate communication infrastructure.
-
SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Realized through the creation of a robust collaborative network among internal university departments to collectively drive corporate communication toward concrete sustainable development objectives.
