EDKKU Collaborates with Network Schools to Prepare Mentors and Supervisors Before 2026 Teaching Practicum Deployment

The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University (EDKKU), organised a seminar for university supervisors, school administrators, mentor teachers, and network coordinators for the 2026 academic year. The event took place on Monday, 11 May 2026, at the ED-TEAL Room, 4th Floor, and via Zoom. Associate Professor Jarunee Samat, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Director of the Teacher Professional Experience Centre, presided over the opening ceremony. The primary aim of the seminar was to establish a shared understanding of roles, the practicum calendar, and mentoring guidelines for 518 student teachers preparing for their practicums at 96 network schools nationwide.

For the current academic year, EDKKU is focusing on integrating innovation through the “ED Supervision” online platform. This platform was developed to systematically enhance the efficiency of tracking and evaluating teaching practicums. This initiative aligns with the “Innovation & Sustainable Education” strategic direction, which emphasises innovation for sustainable education. Additionally, the seminar included briefings on operational guidelines and evaluation standards by Associate Professor Dhanita Doungwilai, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Model School Development and Proactive Marketing, and Associate Professor Oranong Rittiruechai. The event also featured a session on the KPT reflection technique led by Assistant Professor Amornrat Manoban to foster a Professional Learning Community.

Assoc. Prof. Jarunee Samat, Ph.D., stated, “The Faculty of Education has always received exceptional cooperation from our network schools, providing students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations. The implementation of the ED Supervision system this year will be a vital tool to facilitate quality data management and evaluation. We sincerely hope this collaboration will help mold our students into professional teachers ready to create value and drive the nation’s educational quality sustainably.”

This seminar is a key component of pre-practicum preparation, reflecting EDKKU’s commitment to raising teacher preparation standards through active engagement with partner schools to develop highly competent educational professionals ready for future challenges.
