On 7 May 2026, from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm, the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, organised an operational plan seminar for the fiscal year 2027 at Meeting Room A, Mak Mai Restaurant, Sila Subdistrict, Khon Kaen Province. Over 50 executives, lecturers, and support staff gathered to define the direction of operations and drive the organisation towards shared goals.
Assistant Professor Dr. Angkana Boonyued, Dean of the Faculty of Science, delivered a special lecture on “Direction of Science Faculty Administration and Framework for Fiscal Year 2027 Operational Plan.” This aimed to foster understanding of the organisational development approach, key objectives, and strategies of the faculty among all levels of personnel, ensuring their systematic participation in the operational plan’s development. The plan will be underpinned by four core strategies:
Education: Elevate to international standards, producing highly competent graduates with 9 key skills (6+3), emphasising practical application and lifelong learning to equip students thoroughly for the future.
Research: Transform theoretical research into “commercial innovation” by supporting collaborative research groups to generate high-impact research.
Academic Services: Utilise expertise to create value for society through the Sci-Center mechanism and innovation joint ventures, enabling society to recognise the value of science.
Management: Strive to be a Green Faculty and achieve Net Zero, developing modern Digital HR and other systems to raise organisational quality standards to meet TQC criteria.
The seminar emphasised a participatory work process, dividing participants into six working groups based on their responsibilities:
- Educational Services and Student Development, and Student Development-related tasks.
- Research and Academic Services, Scientific Instrument-related tasks, and International Relations.
- Finance and Procurement, Strategy and Quality Assurance-related tasks, Finance and Accounting-related tasks, and Procurement-related tasks.
- Administrative tasks, Building and Vehicle-related tasks, and Human Resources-related tasks.
- Technology-related tasks, and Corporate Communications-related tasks.
- SCi Center and SCiUS-KKU.
Each group had executives present to provide suggestions and guide the development of operational plans in alignment with faculty policies and strategies.
Throughout the seminar, personnel brainstormed, analysed operational approaches, and developed the fiscal year 2027 operational plan through small-group discussions, exchanging suggestions, and presenting each group’s outputs. This fostered a comprehensive view of the organisation and enabled the integration of plans across all dimensions.
This seminar reflects the commitment of Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Science to data-driven organisational management, providing opportunities for staff participation, and creative collaboration. These are crucial elements in driving the organisation towards excellence in science and innovation.
The seminar’s outcomes will lead to the development of clear operational plans with measurable goals and indicators, fostering a shared understanding of plan implementation. This will enable the faculty to generate knowledge, drive innovation, and produce high-quality graduates, acting as vital catalysts for the sustainable development of the nation.
