Khon Kaen University Prepares Student Leaders to Align Activities with KKU EGGS Policy

KHON KAEN – The Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations at Khon Kaen University held a workshop on April 29, 2024, to guide student leaders from the Faculty of Engineering in planning their activities for the upcoming academic year. The event, held at the Pienvijitr Building, focused on integrating the university’s core student identity policy, known as “KKU EGGS.”

The workshop, titled “Student Activity Planning for Student Clubs to Drive the University’s EGGS Policy,” was led by Division Director Mrs. Jetsadaporn Srirattanaprapan and a team of facilitators. The primary goal was to provide an in-depth understanding of the KKU EGGS framework, which stands for Entrepreneurial, Global-minded, Growth-oriented, and Sustainable-focused.

Student leaders participated in a hands-on session on using an assessment tool for EGGS identity traits and soft skills. This practical training guided them through the systematic process of project creation, from brainstorming and activity design to measurement and evaluation. The objective is to ensure that all student-led activities effectively enhance student skills and potential in line with the university’s strategic goals.

Facilitators encouraged the engineering student leaders to leverage their faculty’s unique strengths to design distinctive and diverse activities. They were advised to move beyond single-focus events and develop a broader range of projects. This includes initiatives that showcase academic excellence, promote technological and innovation-based entrepreneurship, and involve community service projects that apply engineering knowledge. Creative recreational activities that incorporate learning were also recommended.

The overall aim is for the Faculty of Engineering’s student activities to reflect its vision of being a “World Class Engineering School for All.” Following the workshop, the student leaders are now equipped with concrete tools and concepts to creatively and sustainably plan their activities for the 2024 academic year, ensuring alignment with both the KKU EGGS identity and the specific context of their faculty.
