KHON KAEN – The Faculty of Agriculture at Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted a group of 100 students and teachers from the 18th Science Camp Project for Science Classrooms in University-Affiliated Schools (SCiUS) on April 2. The visit was organized to provide students from across Thailand with hands-on learning experiences in modern agriculture and technology.

The students first visited the faculty’s Fisheries Division to learn about sustainable aquaculture. Kampol Thaiso, the division manager, delivered a presentation on water-recirculating systems and low-water fishing techniques. University students from the fisheries program then guided the high schoolers through various learning stations, sharing practical knowledge at each stop.

Following this, the group proceeded to the Industrial Insects Division for a session on the cultivation and use of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) as a protein source. Dr. Chutinan Chusai, the division manager, explained the process and led a tour of the facility, which utilizes AI technology in its insect-rearing system. The visiting students also participated in a practical workshop on cricket setting to deepen their understanding.
The objective of the field trip was to provide students with real-world experience, enhance their knowledge of agricultural science and technology, and inspire them toward future studies and innovation in the field.
