KKU International Affairs Division Organises “Cultural Trip 2026: Part 2” to Enhance Knowledge Through Culture

KHON KAEN, THAILAND – On Saturday, 28 March 2026, the International Affairs Division (IAD) of Khon Kaen University organised the “Cultural Trip 2026: Part 2,” a cultural exchange and learning programme for international students. The event was attended by 30 participants from six countries—Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, China, Vietnam, and Nigeria—including master’s and doctoral degree candidates and exchange students from various faculties.

The programme was designed to provide international students with an opportunity to learn about and experience the multicultural heritage of Northeastern Thailand, while also promoting strong relationships among students from diverse national backgrounds.

The group, accompanied by IAD staff, travelled to Sawathee Village, a community renowned for its unique cultural tourism. The itinerary included a visit to Wat Chai Sri to see the ancient chapel’s Hoop Taem (murals) depicting the traditional tale of Sinsai. Participants also enjoyed a century-old Sinsai puppet Mor Lam performance and engaged in hands-on workshops, such as crafting spiderweb brooches and Siho keychains, which beautifully reflect local wisdom.

The international students expressed their great appreciation for the experience, noting that the trip offered valuable insights into the local culture, way of life, and ethnic diversity of the region. They also highlighted how the activity fostered friendships and provided a platform for exchanging perspectives on living and studying in Thailand.

At the conclusion of the trip, the students extended their gratitude to the International Affairs Division and all parties involved for organising such a meaningful and enriching event. They expressed their hope to participate in similar cultural trips in the future.
