KKU Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies Promotes Thai Innovation, Transfers Pineapple Extract Technology for Commercialisation

A significant collaboration between academia and the private sector aims to add value to agricultural resources and enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs in the global health and beauty market.

KHON KAEN, THAILAND – The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University hosted a signing ceremony for the technology transfer of a “Pineapple Extraction Process” on 19 March 2026, at 13:30 hrs. The event took place at the Innovation Room on the first floor of the Interdisciplinary Science Learning and Laboratory Building 2.

The agreement was signed between the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies and Saint Beauty Cosmetic (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

The ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, who delivered the opening remarks and served as a witness to the signing. The technology was officially received by Mr. Thanawat Charoenniwetsanukul, Chairman of Saint Beauty Cosmetic (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The transfer was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Mallika Chantarangsee, the researcher behind the innovation. The event was attended by numerous university executives, faculty members, researchers, staff, and members of the press.

This signing marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between academia and the private sector, aimed at transforming university research into tangible commercial applications. The highly efficient pineapple extraction method will be further developed for use in the cosmetics and health products industries. This initiative not only adds value to the nation’s agricultural resources but also promotes the development of commercially viable innovations. It is expected to enhance the competitive capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs and align with the international trend towards natural extracts in the health and beauty sectors.
