KHON KAEN – The Faculty of Agriculture at Khon Kaen University held a two-day festival from 19–20 March 2026, combining cultural tourism with a showcase of student-led agricultural innovation. The event, titled “Nung Thai Hom Sabai Loh Hai Chom Kalapapruek,” took place at the University’s Agricultural Technology Park.
A central feature of the festival was the “Business Showcase,” which provided a platform for over 40 groups of third and fourth-year students to present their capstone projects. This initiative allowed students to apply their academic knowledge to develop and market value-added agricultural products, giving them direct experience in entrepreneurship, customer communication, and real-world market testing.

The student projects spanned a range of innovations, including new food products, processed agricultural goods, and creative items designed to meet modern consumer demands. The showcase demonstrated the students’ ability to integrate knowledge across the entire agricultural value chain, from production and processing using advanced technologies to the development of effective marketing and sales strategies.

Associate Professor Dr. Darunee Chotitayangkoon, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, stated that the event reflects the faculty’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial skills in the next generation of agricultural graduates. She emphasized that the activities were designed for students to integrate their comprehensive knowledge and develop innovative solutions for future social and economic needs.
In addition to the student showcase, the festival invited attendees to enjoy the sight of over 200 blooming Pink Cassia trees, the result of a six-year restoration project by faculty staff. The event, described as an “Isaan-style Hanami,” encouraged visitors to wear traditional Thai clothing. Other attractions included a large hot-air balloon for photo opportunities, sponsored by Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd., and food and beverage stalls run by students.
