Statistics Students from the Faculty of Science Win Award and Reach Finals at KU MedAI Innovation Challenge 2026

Four teams of third-year statistics students showcased their potential in medical AI, with one team securing the Second Runner-up prize for their pelvic surgical navigation system.

 

Khon Kaen University extends its congratulations to students from the Statistics programme who received an award and reached the final round of the KU MedAI Innovation Challenge 2026.

The Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, proudly recognises the outstanding achievements of four teams of third-year Statistics students who brought distinction to the faculty at the “KU MedAI Innovation Challenge 2026.” The competition was held on Saturday, 7 March 2026, at Kasetsart University, bringing together talented students and innovators in the field of medical artificial intelligence.

 

 

Second Runner-up Prize (Undergraduate Level) | THB 3,000 Cash Prize

Congratulations to Team AI-PPP, whose outstanding project earned them this prestigious award. Project: PelNavPlan—An AI for a Precision Pelvic Surgical Navigation and Planning System Team Members: Ms. Thanyarat Sakkari and Mr. Wisarut Saenbueng

 

Commendations for Three Finalist Teams

The Faculty of Science also applauds the dedication and creativity of the three other teams that successfully advanced to the final round of the competition:

1. Team HeartCode Project: Cardiovas Hora—An AI platform for predicting the 10-year risk of mortality from cardiovascular disease using blood TMAO levels. Team Members: Ms. Chitlada Niminram and Mr. Rungsaeng Kongsuk

2. Team GlucoSage Project: IN-Cube—A precision glucose control system for maternal and infant health. Team Members: Ms. Kusuma Bangsaeng and Ms. Theeranat Khorom

3. Team Chowder & Friends Project: A Conversational AI Agent for Birth Control and the Reduction of STDs among Adolescents Team Members: Mr. Woraphon Phontri and Ms. Chayada Pasawet

This achievement reflects the Faculty of Science’s commitment to developing students’ capabilities in artificial intelligence and data science, enabling them to create innovative solutions that address real-world healthcare and societal challenges on a global scale.
