Srinagarind Hospital Organizes Royal Medical Unit to Serve Remote Areas in Dong Luang District, Mukdahan Province

Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, organized a Royal Medical Unit, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, to provide general and ophthalmic medical examinations and treatments to people in remote areas of Mukdahan province.  


On Friday, March 6, 2026, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, held an activity for the Royal Medical Unit under Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The unit provided medical examinations and treatments to the public and students in remote areas of Mukdahan province, specifically at the Border Patrol Police School of Airports of Thailand in Kok Tum Sub-district, Dong Luang District, Mukdahan Province. Medical equipment and educational supplies were also donated to students and residents in the area to promote widespread and equitable access to public health services.   

The medical outreach unit was led by Professor Dr. Somsak Tiamkao, Director of Srinagarind Hospital, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Sa-nguanchok Luanratanakorn and Assistant Professor Dr. Pattanaree Luanratanakorn, in collaboration with doctors, nurses, and medical personnel from Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

During the activity, general and ophthalmic medical examinations and treatments were provided, along with the donation of medical equipment and educational supplies to students and residents in Dong Luang District, Mukdahan Province. This initiative aims to improve their quality of life and facilitate access to public health services for people in remote areas, ensuring comprehensive and equitable care.


At the opening ceremony of the event, Mrs. Panida Panchot, Deputy Governor of Mukdahan Province, presided over the traditional cone-offering ceremony in front of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s photograph. Dr. Narong Chankaew, Mukdahan Provincial Public Health Doctor, welcomed the medical team, nurses, and personnel from Srinagarind Hospital. Heads of local government agencies and Police Lieutenant Colonel Anurak Senamat, Deputy Superintendent of Border Patrol Police Division 23, also joined in welcoming the team.   


This activity received cooperation from various local agencies, including the Mukdahan Provincial Public Health Office, Mukdahan Hospital, Kok Tum Hospital, Kok Tum Police Station, Border Patrol Police Division 23, and Village Health Volunteers (VHVs), as well as volunteer citizens who set up over 500 food stalls offering both savory and sweet dishes to support the comprehensive services provided to the public.   


The operation of this royal medical unit reflects the collaboration between government agencies, medical personnel, and the public in caring for community health. It also upholds the royal aspiration to sustainably improve the quality of life and access to public health services for people in remote areas.
