From Training Model to Real Income: KKU Office of Academic Service Propels Products by People with Disabilities and Community Enterprises into the Market at KKU CSV 2026, Strengthening the Grassroots Economy

On 6 March 2026, the Office of Academic Service, Khon Kaen University, hosted an exhibition booth and community product sale at the “Khon Kaen University Societal Contribution (KKU CSV)” event, held at Khon Kaen Railway Station. The initiative aimed to showcase the potential of, and expand market channels for, products crafted by people with disabilities and community enterprises. This effort focuses on generating stable income and elevating quality of life, aligning with the University’s guiding philosophy of “Social Devotion.”

For this activity, the Office of Academic Service selected outstanding products developed under the “Project to Expand the Higher Education Network to Develop Potential for Employment Among People with Disabilities” (KMUTT Training–Internship Model). This project is supported by the Fund for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The event also featured items from community enterprises supported by the Office, including:

“P’Kaen – Nong Jai” Dolls, Tote Bags, Neck Pillows, and other items: Produced by the Sila Disability Occupational Group (under the brands Hug Sila & Kaen Jai).
Handcrafted Jewellery: From the Koon Daeng Yai Community Enterprise.
Safe Agricultural Products: Charcoal and pesticide-free vegetables from Ban KM. 52.
Fresh Guava Produce: From the Tha Kra Serm Farmers Group.

Participation in this event drives the mission of Societal Contribution via Cultural Involvement and Community Integration. The Office of Academic Service applies knowledge and innovation to provide Community Support, creating Economic Value alongside social value. By promoting vocations and income generation for vulnerable groups, the initiative fosters sustainable self-reliance in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
