Khon Kaen University is advancing its project to renovate the former Student Organisation Building and its surrounding area into the “KKU Living Museum,” a new, vibrant exhibition space. The university recently convened a crucial meeting of the data collection committee to select and refine all content that will be displayed, reaffirming the goal of creating a space rich in memory, pride, and connection for students and alumni of all generations.
On 28 February 2026, a meeting of the data collection committee for the KKU Living Museum project was held at the Sookwan Room, Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen University. The meeting was led by Mr. Somsak Taecharoenviriyakul, former President of the KKU Alumni Association (KKU, 12th cohort), and Associate Professor Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization. They were joined by esteemed alumni, distinguished experts, and representatives from various relevant university departments.
This meeting marked an important milestone in the project’s progress, following the completion of the architectural design and the establishment of a clear operational plan. The main agenda focused on brainstorming and finalising the exhibition content, ensuring that it is comprehensive, reflects the values and aspirations of Khon Kaen University, and meaningfully represents the history and spirit of the Mor Din Daeng community.
The KKU Living Museum project aims to transform the former Student Organisation Building into a dynamic “living space.” The concept combines historical exhibitions and community narratives with functional areas for student and alumni activities, fostering meaningful connections and preserving shared memories across generations.
The working committee intends to finalise the exhibition content as soon as possible so that the information can be delivered to the architectural and design teams for the next development phase. This will lead to the procurement process and the commencement of construction according to the project timeline, ensuring the successful realisation of the KKU Living Museum as a lasting landmark of memory and pride for Khon Kaen University.
