KKU Launches “The Ultimate Career Launchpad” for SLF Graduates, Aiming to Mould ‘Grade A’ Graduates for the Professional World

Khon Kaen University (KKU), through its Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations, has launched a major end-of-year project: the “Career Orientation for Student Loan Fund (SLF) Graduates for the 2025 Academic Year.” Themed “The Ultimate Career Launchpad: Moulding ‘Grade A’ Graduates for the Global Workplace,” and guided by the core concept of “Finding the Right Job, Embracing Financial Discipline,” the initiative aims to comprehensively equip graduating students with essential skills, enabling them to step into the professional world with confidence and stability.

The project’s inaugural event took place on 27 February 2026 at Conference Room 1, Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations, Khon Kaen University. It attracted a large number of final-year students and other interested participants, creating a dynamic and knowledge-rich atmosphere throughout the day. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialisation, who also delivered the opening address.

In her speech, Associate Professor Pensri Jaroenwanit highlighted the project’s significance: “Today’s event is a reflection of the University’s dedication, care, and goodwill towards all our students. The presence of the administration here is not merely a formality but an opportunity to listen, learn, and show mutual respect. Most importantly, it is a chance to thank and commend every student who has dedicated their time and effort to join this activity for their personal development.”

The Vice President also elaborated on the University’s concept of a “Grade A graduate,” explaining that it extends beyond academic performance to encompass excellence in multiple dimensions of life. “A Grade A graduate is someone who possesses a positive mindset, an optimistic outlook, emotional and social maturity, and—most importantly—a sense of responsibility and gratitude. Recognising how we reached this point and who supported us along the way is a virtue in itself. As you enter the professional world, remember that organisations do not hire individuals to have an easy time; they hire capable people to help solve complex and challenging problems. Take pride in facing such challenges, as they reflect both your value and the organisation’s trust in your potential. Strive to become a ‘Talent’—an employee whose departure would represent a significant loss to the organisation.”

The first session, titled “Building Financial Immunity,” was packed with crucial knowledge from expert speakers:

  • Krungthai Bank PCL: Presented on “Money Management Techniques for New Graduates,” offering guidance on financial planning, managing expenses, and building savings discipline from the start of one’s career. The speakers were Ms. Supattra Krutnapha, a Financial Advisor (AFPT™) in Marketing Activation, and Ms. Wannisa Paripotang from Marketing Activation.
  • JobThai: Provided an overview of future labour market trends in their talk on the “Future of Work,” helping students align their skills with the demands of modern organisations. The speaker was Mr. Worapon Hongpanich, Manager of Marketing Communications at JobThai.
  • The Student Loan Fund (SLF): Delivered in-depth information on “Debt Repayment Regulations Under the New Law” and “Social Responsibility Awareness.” This session aimed to foster a clear understanding of repayment conditions, interest rates, and penalties, enabling new graduates to manage their debt effectively. The speakers were Mr. Phayungsak Khantharujee and Ms. Pattamawadee Kaew-iad from the Debt Management Department of the Student Loan Fund.

Continuing the Journey: Activities 2 and 3

This project is a continuous pathway designed to truly mould graduates into professionals. Two highlight events are set to follow:

  • Activity 2: A Real-World Experience with “KKU Job Fair 2026 Powered by JobThai.” Scheduled for 28 February 2026 at the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre, this fair will provide a platform for students to apply their knowledge in a practical setting. It will offer opportunities to submit applications and interview with over 100 leading national companies. In a special addition this year, the central Student Loan Fund office will host a booth to provide comprehensive consultations.
  • Activity 3: An Exclusive Workshop titled “Perfect Your Look: Be a Pro, Even as a New Grad.” The project will conclude on 26 March 2026 at the Bayasita Hotel. This special workshop is for the 50 students who accumulate the highest scores from the first two activities. They will participate in an in-depth “Professional Image & Personality Excellence” workshop and learn international-style Western Table Manners from renowned national experts, Dr. Nutchanart Chonlakornka and Ms. Rattanawadee Chonlakornka of ESTC Training Center, to enhance their global image and confidence.

Associate Professor Pensri concluded her address with a final piece of advice: “I urge all students to apply the knowledge gained from these activities to identify and fill their personal gaps and develop themselves to keep pace with the world, in line with the KKU Students’ Identity. This will help them grow into well-rounded graduates, a source of pride for Khon Kaen University, ready to face the wider
