His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, presided over a merit-making ceremony at the Ubosot (main chapel) of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram. The ceremony was dedicated to His Holiness Somdet Phra Sangharaja Chao Kromma Luang Chinavaralongkorn and was held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King to commemorate the 129th anniversary of his birth on 2 March 2026.

On this occasion, His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch graciously bestowed educational scholarships from the Somdet Phra Sangharaja Chao Kromma Luang Chinavaralongkorn Foundation. Continuing the tradition observed annually by the late Supreme Patriarch on his birthday, scholarships were granted to 50 educational and charitable institutions.

Khon Kaen University was among the recipients, receiving a scholarship to support students who demonstrate academic excellence, good conduct, and financial need. A representative from Khon Kaen University formally received the scholarship from His Holiness on 2 March 2026 at the Ubosot of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram.

This gracious act reflects His Holiness’s continued benevolence and support for educational opportunities, contributing to the development of students at Khon Kaen University.
