The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Thailand and the Old Japan Students’ Association (Northeast Chapter), organized “The 25th Japan Education Fair in Khon Kaen” on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Saisuree Chutikul Hall. The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. TANIMURA Takamasa, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan; Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjug, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng, Associate Dean for Demonstration Schools; and Prof. Dr. Teerasak Damrongrungruang, representing the Old Japan Students’ Association (Northeast Chapter). This event marks 25 consecutive years of providing a platform that inspires students to broaden their academic horizons internationally and access educational opportunities at leading institutions in Japan.
During the ceremony, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Tophak-ngam, Prof. Dr. Teerasak Damrongrungruang, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng delivered welcoming remarks to the delegates, speakers, and participants. Mr. TANIMURA Takamasa, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, presided over the opening and emphasized the importance of preparing for global citizenship and the strong, 20-year collaboration between Khon Kaen University and Japan. He particularly highlighted support for studies in modern fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Space Technology, which are vital for driving future innovation.
The event attracted over 300 students and interested participants who sought in-depth information from key organizations, including the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), the Old Japan Students’ Association, Thailand (OJSAT), the Japan Foundation, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Participants also received direct consultations from representatives of prestigious institutions, including Kyoto University, Nagoya University, Kanazawa University, Tokai University, Fukui University of Technology, Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS), and Shibaura Institute of Technology, particularly regarding admissions procedures and the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship.
Beyond serving as an educational bridge, the fair functions as a catalyst for advancing Quality Education and Global Partnerships. By expanding access to international study pathways, the event fosters globally minded graduates with a deep appreciation of cultural and linguistic diversity. This initiative aligns with the Faculty of Education’s vision to create educational innovation that supports sustainable social and economic development.
