Students from the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University are set to stage the musical production “Waad Dao: If the Star Wishes” from 27 February to 1 March 2026, from 17:00 to 20:15 hrs, at the Saisuree Chutikul Conference Room (ED Theatre), Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University.
The production returns after a five-year hiatus and aims to cultivate students’ skills in language use, acting, and character interpretation. It also enhances competencies in organisational management, teamwork, and problem-solving. Moreover, the activity fosters cross-departmental collaboration, allowing students to integrate diverse skills and gain practical, real-world experience beyond the classroom—experience that will prove valuable in their future professional careers.

Miss Panpee Kamsornpan, a third-year student in the English Education programme at the Faculty of Education and the show’s producer, stated, “This musical is special because the narrative is conveyed through song, which helps train skills in acting, singing, and fully immersing oneself in a character. The production team is divided into 21 departments, including direction, stage management, acting, set design, lighting and sound, makeup and costume, vocal performance, and music composition, among others. Everyone must work together to ensure the performance runs smoothly.”
She further explained, “The role of a producer is comprehensive and demanding. It involves overseeing all aspects of the production, coordinating departments and personnel, strategic planning, and solving unforeseen problems in real time. It has been an invaluable learning experience.”
“Waad Dao: If the Star Wishes” is scheduled for performance from 27 February to 1 March 2026, from 17:00 to 20:15 hrs, at the Saisuree Chutikul Conference Room (ED Theatre), Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University.
