The Power of a New Generation: KKU Nursing Students Awarded “Youth Change Maker” Plaque for Tobacco Control Advocacy, Poised to Lead Gen Z Towards a Smoke-Free Society

The Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University, extends its congratulations to three first-year nursing students: Miss Sunantha Sumonta, Miss Phimchanok Sanso, and Miss Kulnaphut Sangsuk. Their team brought great pride to the university by winning the “Youth Change Maker Smoke-Free 2026” award at the 16th Smoke-Free University Academic Conference, held from 23–24 February 2026.

This achievement followed their participation in the “TOGETHER WE LEAD CAMP: Empowering Gen Z Leaders for a Smoke-Free Society” event. Organised by the Upper Northeastern Smoke-Free Higher Education Institution Network, the camp provided a platform for the students to demonstrate their potential, creativity, and dedication to helping build a tobacco-free community.

This award marks a commendable first step for this new generation of nursing students. It highlights their commitment not only to their health studies but also to making a positive social impact, reflecting their true potential as genuine change-makers.
