KKU Holds Seminar to Formulate 2027 Operational Plan, Driving Strategy Towards Excellence and Sustainability

Khon Kaen University organised a seminar for the formulation of its Operational Plan for the Fiscal Year 2027, held from 22 to 24 February 2026 in Chiang Mai. The event aimed to collectively define strategic direction through the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) framework, aspiring to elevate the organisation towards excellence and sustainability in all dimensions.

From 22 to 24 February 2026, the Administration Division and the Strategy Division of the Office of the President convened the seminar at the U Nimman Chiang Mai Hotel in Chiang Mai Province. The purpose was to review progress and establish clear implementation pathways for the University’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and the policies of the University Council.

The seminar was attended by the President, Vice Presidents, Assistants to the President, heads of divisions, heads of units, and the Strategic Analysis and Forecasting Committee. Participants collaborated to define a coherent direction for institutional management and to reinforce long-term sustainability. Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony and led strategic vision-sharing sessions, which included:

Dinner Talk: A presentation on ‘Organisational Management for Excellence (TQC)’ by the Deans of the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts.
Special Lecture: A talk on ‘Key Focus Areas for Khon Kaen University Administration in 2027’ by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University.
Lecture: A presentation on ‘Organisation Performance and Screen Result’ by Assistant Professor Tala Thammaroj, M.D., Vice President for Administration.
Strategic Presentations: Presentations on key issues for driving the 2027 strategy by the various Vice Presidents.

The event also featured workshops where participants brainstormed ideas based on four key pillars:

Academic Excellence and Innovation
Smart Campus and ESG Integration
Optimisation of University Resources for Growth and Sustainability
Societal Contribution via Cultural Involvement and Community Integration

The outcomes of the seminar are expected to produce a clear and actionable Operational Plan for the Fiscal Year 2027. This plan will guide the organisation toward achieving its visionary goals and delivering tangible results in academia, research, administration, and social dedication.

The seminar represents a critical mechanism for defining institutional direction and strengthening Khon Kaen University’s trajectory as an organisation committed to excellence, resilience, and sustainable growth in the years ahead.
