Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, KKU Participates in NEPhReC 2026 and Wins 8 National Awards

On 21–22 February 2026, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University participated in the academic conference and research presentation “The 17th Annual Northeast Pharmacy Research Conference: NEPhReC 2026” at Rung Phueng Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Science, Mahasarakham University.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Prayuk Srivilai, President of Mahasarakham University. Assistant Professor Dr. Rujiluk Rattarom, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, delivered the report outlining the objectives of the conference.

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, was led by Assistant Professor Dr Narin Chansri, Dean of the Faculty, together with the administrative team — Assistant Professor Dr Pathomthas Srisuk, Associate Dean for Strategic Administration and Organisational Development; Associate Professor Dr Supawadee Daodee, Associate Dean for Education and Quality Assurance; and Associate Professor Dr Yaowares Sumanont, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs — along with faculty members, postgraduate students, and pharmacy undergraduates, who actively participated and presented their research.

The conference was jointly organized through the collaboration of three leading faculties of pharmaceutical sciences in Northeastern Thailand: Mahasarakham University, Khon Kaen University, and Ubon Ratchathani University. It was held under the theme “Innovations in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Pharmacy,” serving as a national platform for knowledge exchange and dissemination of research conducted by students, pharmacists, and health professionals, as well as for advancing academic development in response to societal changes.

The first day of the conference featured the opening ceremony, keynote lectures by international experts, oral and poster research presentations, and academic networking activities. Highlights included a lecture by Dr. Sonia Pereira de Sousa from Portugal on the role of community pharmacists, and a presentation on anti-aging pharmacy by Associate Professor Dr. Natee Waranuch from Naresuan University, aligning with the profession’s preparedness for an aging society.

The second day included a panel discussion entitled “The Role of Pharmacists in Anti-Ageing Science” and an award ceremony recognising distinguished professionals with the “Si Isan Distinguished Pharmacist Award.”

Notably, undergraduate students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, achieved outstanding success by receiving a total of eight awards from both oral and poster presentations in the fields of Pharmaceutical Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This achievement reflects the high quality of research and the strong potential of the students on a national stage. Details are as follows:
