Khon Kaen, Thailand – In celebration of its 47th anniversary, the Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University is proud to announce its annual academic conference, themed “Harmony of Smile: Lifelong Esthetics & Function.” Scheduled to take place from 21–22 May 2026, the event aims to celebrate the Faculty’s legacy of excellence and advance Thai dentistry towards a sustainable future.
The Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University was officially established on 14 May 1979 as part of the University’s Health Science Centre project. From an initial intake of just 30 students, the Faculty has undergone continuous development and now admits 80 students annually, supported by comprehensive infrastructure including modern academic buildings, dental clinics, and a fully equipped dental hospital. For more than four decades, the Faculty has played a pivotal role not only in training its own dental professionals but also in enhancing the competencies of dental practitioners nationwide, thereby contributing significantly to the sustainable improvement of oral health and quality of life for the Thai population.
Guided by its vision of becoming “A Great Dental School for All,” the Faculty remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. A key mechanism for this continuous advancement is the annual academic conference, which fosters the exchange of knowledge and professional development. This year, in honour of its 47th anniversary, the Faculty is holding a special conference under the concept: “47 Years of Beautiful Smiles: Integrating Aesthetics and Function for Lifelong, Sustainable Quality of Life.”
This year’s conference will focus on integrating knowledge of aesthetics and oral system function across all life stages. It will provide a platform for sharing experiences, fostering new perspectives, and shaping the future direction of dentistry in Thailand. The event welcomes faculty members, dental practitioners, academics, alumni, students, and all interested participants to join in celebrating 47 years of distinguished achievement.
The programme will feature academic lectures, hands-on workshops, and research presentations by leading national experts. Topics will cover oral aesthetics, restorative dentistry, lifelong oral healthcare, and cutting-edge dental innovations.
