KKU Faculty of Economics Participates in 2025 Undergraduate Economics Quiz and Research Presentation Competition

On 5 February 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University (KKU), dispatched student representatives to participate in the 2025 Undergraduate Economics Quiz Competition and Research Paper Presentation. The event served as a platform for students to demonstrate their academic potential and knowledge at the Meeting Room on the 15th Floor of the Professor M.L. Pin Malakul Service Building, Srinakharinwirot University (Prasanmit Campus).

The Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University, sent its student representatives to the national academic competition with the aims of promoting and developing the academic potential of undergraduate students, providing opportunities for students to showcase their abilities and test their knowledge on a national stage, enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving, and research presentation skills, and building academic networks among the nation’s leading educational institutions. These activities contribute to raising student quality and enhancing the Faculty’s reputation in the national academic arena. 

Assistant Professor Chakrit Chiawiriyaboonya, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Development, Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University, commented, “On behalf of the Faculty of Economics, I congratulate and offer our encouragement to all students selected as representatives for this competition. The Undergraduate Economics Quiz and Research Presentation are crucial venues for testing students’ knowledge, proficiency, and readiness to apply economic principles in analysing real-world problems and situations. Our students have undergone rigorous rehearsals and preparation, reflecting their dedication and responsibility as representatives of the Faculty.”

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Development continued, “Participation in activities like this is not only a test of competence but also a vital opportunity to learn from other institutions, network with peers from different universities nationwide, and open up new academic perspectives. The experience gained will serve as an essential foundation for their self-development and preparation for becoming professional economists in the future. I wish all students the confidence to perform to their fullest potential.”

    Mr. Thanabodee Saisin, a student representative for the Economics Quiz Competition, stated, “It is a great honour and source of pride to represent the Faculty of Economics in this competition. Our team has received intensive coaching and preparation from our advisors, covering both theoretical knowledge and its practical application in real scenarios. We have learned teamwork skills, quick critical thinking, and effective communication. Although the competition is challenging, we are ready to demonstrate our potential and bring prestige to the Faculty.”

Mr. Ruaktrakul Trakunsuntornchai, the student representative for the Economics Research Presentation, shared, “Presenting research on a national stage is an invaluable experience for me. The process, from conceptualising the research topic, designing the methodology, collecting and analysing data, to writing and presenting the findings, has been a deeply challenging learning curve. My academic advisors provided full guidance and support throughout the process. I hope this research will be well-received, contribute beneficially to the academic community, and inspire junior students interested in research.”

Lecturer Krittayanee Kittipatpanich, the supervising faculty member, commented, “Participating in this national competition is an excellent opportunity for students to test the knowledge and skills they have acquired, as well as broaden their horizons by meeting peers from other universities. I am confident that our students will perform admirably and impress the judging panel and all attendees. Regardless of the outcome, the experience and lessons learned will be a valuable asset for their academic and professional growth.”

The 2025 Undergraduate Economics Quiz and Research Presentation Competition is an annual event organised by the network of Thailand’s leading economics institutions. It aims to foster learning exchange, enhance educational quality, and build a robust academic environment for undergraduate students. The competition comprises two main categories: the Economics Quiz Competition, which tests knowledge and analytical ability in economic issues, and the Economics Research Paper Presentation, which focuses on research skills and academic presentation techniques.
