KKU Faculty of Education Welcomes SEA-Teacher Interns to Enhance International Educational Innovation Network

Khon Kaen University (KKU) Faculty of Education held an orientation ceremony on 4 February 2026 to welcome exchange students participating in the 2026 SEA-Teacher Programme.

The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Pornsawan Wongthatam, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, who officially welcomed the six exchange students. The orientation, held at Meeting Room 1507 of the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, was designed to prepare the students before they commence their teaching practicum. The programme aims to strengthen learning experiences in diverse classroom contexts and equip students to become international educational pioneers.

Associate Professor Wongthatam stated, “This programme is more than just a venue for students to practise teaching skills in a different environment; it is a crucial mechanism for tightening relationships between partner institutions and building strong, sustainable international academic and research collaboration networks.”

The SEA-Teacher Programme is a cooperative initiative between four leading institutions: the University of Tsukuba, Japan; Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Indonesia; Central Luzon State University, the Philippines; and the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University.

Associate Professor Jarunee Samart, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Education, along with other faculty members, provided close guidance to the students on professional teaching practices and adapting to life in Thailand.

This project reflects the commitment of the KKU Faculty of Education to driving educational innovation for sustainable development by producing competent new-generation teachers at the global level. The Faculty serves as a crucial mechanism in elevating educational standards across ASEAN and the world. The students will undertake their internships from 2 to 28 February 2026, where they will immerse themselves in the excellent learning management processes utilised by the Demonstration School.
