During the visit, the Singaporean teacher leaders—comprising Master Teachers and Lead Teachers from various subject disciplines—expressed strong interest in the educational management model of the Faculty of Education and the KKU International Demonstration School, which places emphasis on transformative education aimed at nurturing future “Global Leaders.”
Assistant Professor Sharaphan Jakprateng, Ph.D., presented the development direction of the Demonstration School under the Faculty of Education’s new vision: to become a leading institution at the ASEAN level. He emphasised the Demonstration School’s role as an innovation model, integrating holistic learning from kindergarten through to secondary education. He also underscored the critical importance of international academic collaboration to collectively develop students’ 21st-century competencies.
Key exchanges addressed several important areas, including international curriculum design, which is benchmarked against the US Common Core standards while being contextually adapted to Asian learners. Discussions also covered the promotion of Global Citizenship competencies through hands-on learning approaches, such as Play-based Learning and Inquiry-based Learning, as well as the implementation of the “Career Path Academy” at the secondary level. This initiative partners with innovative enterprises and start-ups, enabling students to gain early exposure to real-world professional environments.
In addition, participants exchanged insights on professional teacher development, focusing on Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and team-teaching models involving Thai and international educators, which collectively enhance instructional quality and classroom innovation.
This visit served not only as a platform to showcase KKU’s educational innovation capabilities but also as a significant step towards expanding collaborative educational networks with a leading nation like Singapore. The tangible benefits gained from this exchange will provide both pre-service teachers and educational personnel with inspiration and novel approaches for designing learning management strategies that effectively address future challenges.

Associate Professor Itsara Kanjak, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, concluded that welcoming the teacher leaders from Singapore’s Ministry of Education reflects the Faculty of Education’s vital role as a learning resource and a centre for exchanging educational innovations within ASEAN. The Faculty is committed to improving the quality of teacher training and learning management to meet the demands of the future world and drive international academic collaborations for sustainable educational development.
