Khon Kaen University integrates ESG principles and advances its communication channels, including KKU Radio, to enhance societal outreach and good governance.

Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit Vice President for Legal and Communications at Khon Kaen University (KKU), stated that KKU has established a new administrative policy for the period 2026–2029. This policy focuses on integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the development of a Smart Campus ESG Integration.
In her role overseeing corporate communications, with the Division of Corporate Communications, Office of the President, serving as the core unit responsible for Strategic Issue 6 (Beyond Good Governance and Societal Leadership), Assistant Professor Natsamol emphasised the importance of presenting the university’s image based on credibility, transparency, and the tangible creation of benefits for communities and society.
The strategic policy for corporate communications, managed by the Division of Corporate Communications, employs various mainstream channels to reach both internal and external communities, including the Website, Line, Facebook, YouTube, KKU-POP Mail, Tik Tok, Instagram, and KKU Radio FM 103 MHz. KKU Radio remains one of the most effective channels for reaching specific target audiences, as a segment of the public still prefers listening to radio broadcasts. As a result, Khon Kaen University has maintained a continuous commitment to the development of its radio station. Given the diversity of its audience, radio programming must be correspondingly diverse, covering a broad range of content areas, aligning with audience interests, and complying with broadcasting regulations set by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). The station’s growing reach is reflected in its performance indicators, with more than 9,900 followers accessing KKU Radio through its Facebook page.
“We have a radio network comprising presenters from diverse professional backgrounds who are ready to share their knowledge broadly with the public. However, effective programming—even with excellent dissemination channels and talented presenters—requires continuous development to keep pace with current events,” the Vice President added. “We have instructed the Radio Unit, under the supervision of the Division of Corporate Communications, to organise ‘Upskill’ and ‘Reskill’ training seminars. These are designed to equip radio network presenters, both internal and external, with professional expertise, especially given the rapid changes brought by AI technology.”
She emphasised that filling the knowledge and equipment gap for presenters with modern technology is a key policy, as it helps programmes resonate more with listeners. Furthermore, listeners are encouraged to participate, establishing two-way communication. This pivot represents a new era for Khon Kaen University Radio, utilising modern technology to make the presenters’ work better and more efficient.
Khon Kaen University Radio distinguishes itself not only as a public knowledge dissemination platform, but also through its specialised presenters whose expertise serves as a vital driving force behind the station’s continued progress.
The station broadcasts daily from 07:00 to 18:00 hrs, both online and on-air via FM 103 MHz. Online platforms include radio.kku.ac.th, the Facebook page “KKU Radio FM103 MHz วิทยุ มข.”, and catch-up content on YouTube. Currently, the station operates through a combined network of 86 presenters, comprising 60 internal and 26 external contributors, collectively supporting its mission to deliver knowledge with real societal value.
