Faculty of Engineering, KKU, Discusses Collaboration on Automation and AI with ThaiNamthip

Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Engineering is poised to establish a strategic partnership with ThaiNamthip Corporation to advance industrial technology, workforce development, and operational efficiency.

On 22 January 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University (KKU), hosted a consultation meeting with ThaiNamthip Corporation Limited (Public Company Limited) to outline the direction for future collaboration in the fields of Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This partnership is designed to focus on developing manufacturing processes, upskilling the workforce, and enhancing technological capabilities to align with the requirements of the industrial sector.

The meeting welcomed executives and lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering who participated in the exchange of ideas. Attendees included Assistant Professor Panupong Wanjuntug, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer; Assistant Professor Kritsanarach Nitisiri, Assistant Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations; Associate Professor Tana Radpukdee, Head of the Automated System, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program; and Lecturer Nattapong Ruenrudeepan from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They were joined by representatives from ThaiNamthip Corporation Limited.

The core discussions focused on defining future areas of collaboration, such as the exchange of expertise in Automation and AI related to manufacturing processes. Key areas explored included methodologies for applying AI to boost production efficiency, data analytics, and predictive maintenance to prevent machinery issues. Furthermore, the meeting addressed mechanisms to integrate academic curricula, study visits, laboratories, and Maker Spaces to ensure relevance with real-world industrial applications.

In addition, both parties discussed human resource development and the creation of long-term strategic cooperation. These initiatives encompass talent identification and development, internships and joint projects, the design of professional staff training, reciprocal site visits, and the co-development of research and innovation. This comprehensive plan aims to foster a robust and sustainable partnership between the academic and industrial sectors.
