‘Fill the Heart with Pink and Embrace Love’: The 16th Community Health Volunteering Camp Delivers Warmth and Holistic Healthcare in Phon District

The Sirikit Heart Centre, Khon Kaen University (KKU), in collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, successfully organised the 16th Community Health Volunteering Camp under the theme “Fill the Heart with Pink and Embrace Love.” The programme was held from 31 January to 1 February 2026 at Ban Wang Khon Daeng Nong Ya Plong School, Khon Kaen Province.

The outreach initiative was led by Dr. Dujdao Sahasthas, together with a team of physicians, medical personnel, and volunteers from the Sirikit Heart Centre, Khon Kaen University. They worked closely with faculty members from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular screening services while also providing emotional support, encouragement, and community engagement for local residents.

The camp offered a wide range of holistic healthcare services, including cardiovascular disease screening, electrocardiogram (EKG) testing, and heart ultrasound examinations. A total of 147 local residents attended the medical services. Following the screening results, 10 patients were identified and subsequently referred for further specialized treatment.
Beyond clinical services, the camp provided essential capacity-building training, including basic life support (CPR) instruction for both children and adults in the community. The team also renovated the school playground to ensure it was safer and more functional. Furthermore, blankets were distributed to residents of Dong Lan Sub-district to alleviate the burden of cold weather, thereby extending care and concern during the winter season.
Every activity undertaken during this volunteering camp served to weave a strong fabric of cooperation and love among all participating sectors. The initiative successfully fostered the “Pink of Happiness” to bloom in Phon District, ensuring that sustainable community well-being continues to grow within the hearts of the residents.
