Srinagarind Hospital Deploys Royal Mobile Medical Unit (Po.Swo.) to Provide Healthcare Services in Kaongeo, Khon Kaen, Promoting Well-being and Reducing Health Disparity

On 23 January 2026, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (KKU), conducted a mobile medical mission in collaboration with the Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer Foundation (Po.Swo.) Mobile Medical Unit, Khon Kaen Province. The mission aimed to provide examinations, treatment, and health promotion services to the public at Ban Kaongeo School, Moo 2, Kaongeo Subdistrict, Phon District, Khon Kaen Province.

Leading the Srinagarind Hospital team was Professor Somsak Tiamkao, Director of Srinagarind Hospital, along with physicians, nurses, and medical personnel who engaged closely with the local community. This outreach was conducted as part of the “Alleviating Hardship, Enhancing Well-being, and Creating Public Smiles” project, the opening ceremony of which was presided over by Mr. Khajornkiat Rakpanichmanee, Governor of Khon Kaen Province.

Within the mobile medical unit, Srinagarind Hospital offered a comprehensive range of clinical services, including rooms for general practice, ophthalmology checks, ultrasound scans, and breast cancer screening. Furthermore, booths were set up to provide health knowledge, operated by the Social Medicine Unit, the Disability Services Centre, and the Social Welfare Department of Srinagarind Hospital. Additionally, the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, provided educational information regarding cancer.

Srinagarind Hospital also donated medical equipment and essential items to support community healthcare, including two folding wheelchairs, two commode wheelchairs, two sets of walker frames, 50 blankets, two cartons of face masks, and various household medicines.

The mobile medical mission attracted considerable interest from residents in Kaongeo Subdistrict and surrounding areas. This successful outreach reaffirms Srinagarind Hospital’s role as a university hospital committed to providing accessible medical and public health services to all citizens, reducing health inequality, and sustainably elevating the quality of life within the community.
