KKU Architecture Collaborates with Community Development Office to Drive OTOP into the Digital Era using AI

The Department of Design, Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University (KKU), spearheaded by Lecturer Dr. Akkhaphon Lamuang and Lecturer Monthida Lertnimanradee, served as instructors in a hands-on training programme. This initiative, titled “Developing Entrepreneurs towards Thailand 4.0,” was conducted in collaboration with Mr. Chaturaphit Phimsaeng, a specialist in content creation and online marketing. The goal of the programme was to systematically enhance the capabilities of OTOP entrepreneurs, enabling them to adapt and compete effectively in the digital marketplace.

The project was organised by the Khon Kaen Provincial Community Development Office between 27 and 28 December 2025 at the Khon Kaen Hotel, with the training sessions spanning two days.

The first day focused on establishing a foundation in digital content, covering topics from creating content for online sales and preparing product information, to photographing products suitably for digital platforms, as well as uploading and managing data on websites and online marketplaces.

The second day shifted focus towards digital marketing and sales strategies in the modern era. This session covered strategic marketing planning, selecting appropriate online sales channels, using live streaming to boost sales, and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to aid entrepreneurs in making informed business decisions.

The training concretely promoted the concept of “AI x OTOP.” This included utilising AI to analyse market trends and consumer behaviour, survey competitors, select optimal sales channels, assist in writing effective advertising copy, and generate product images and content tailored for the online market. These applications help reduce operational costs, increase accuracy, and enhance the competitive potential of community entrepreneurs in the digital age.

This programme underscores the role of the academic institution in integrating knowledge across design, technology, and innovation with grassroots community development, thus fostering sustainable economic strength at the foundation level.
