KKU Reinforces Governance: Office of Academic Service Organises Intensive Procurement Regulation Training to Elevate Executive and Staff Performance

On 23–24 December 2025, the Office of Academic Service (OAS), Khon Kaen University, conducted a Lifelong Education programme titled, “The Role of Executives and Practitioners in Procurement and Contract Management: Ensuring Accuracy and Transparency.” The training was held at the Dusita Conference Room, 5th Floor, Office of Academic Service, with the objective of strengthening expertise in public procurement in compliance with legal requirements, promoting transparency, and reducing operational risks.

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Chuchat Kamollerd, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Academic Service, highlighted the Office’s mission to serve as a leading hub for lifelong education. He emphasised that training on good governance and public budget administration is a key component of the Office’s academic service to society, supporting capacity building across both internal and external government agencies.

The programme attracted executives and staff responsible for procurement and financial management from multiple units. It was notably honoured by the participation of Associate Professor Choopong Thongkamsamut, Ph.D., Vice President for Physical Ecosystem and Environment, Khon Kaen University, together with his management team, who attended the full course to ensure effective application of the knowledge in their respective operations.

Associate Professor Choopong Thongkamsamut thanked the instructor and offered his perspective on the importance of the training, noting that “Contract administration represents a primary risk factor faced by divisional units within the University,” given the high volume and complexity of procurement activities. He stressed that developing the expertise of personnel is therefore an urgent imperative.

The Vice President also expressed his appreciation for the excellent cooperation from internal partners, such as the Finance Division and the Legal Division, which serve as “mentors” to staff, helping to minimise operational errors. Throughout the training, he paid close attention and documented key details to ensure future operations are seamless and free from complaints.

The knowledge transfer session over the two days was led by Mr. Petch Posarat, a procurement expert, who employed lectures combined with practical case studies (Workshops). This approach allowed participants to apply various techniques correctly and swiftly in their workflow, in full compliance with government regulations.

The Office of Academic Service, Khon Kaen University, is dedicated to serving as a crucial mechanism for the continuous professional development of public sector personnel, thereby establishing standards for transparency and operational efficiency in line with sustainable good governance.
