On 24 December 2025, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University (KKU), organised the 22nd annual ‘I Want to Be a Teacher’ Dream Camp (Khai San Fan Chan Yak Pen Khru) for the 2025 academic year. Associate Professor Vayu Kanjanasorn, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Societal Sustainability, presided over the opening ceremony. The event, held at Saisuree Jutikul Meeting Room, Faculty of Education, welcomed secondary school students (M.4–M.6), KKU Education students, and students from partner universities.
The primary objectives of the programme were to inspire clarity among high school students regarding their pursuit of the teaching profession at the tertiary level, to instil essential morality, ethics, and the teaching spirit, and to foster relationships and knowledge exchange between current students and prospective applicants, aiming to enhance understanding of the role of a modern educator.
Associate Professor Vayu Kanjanasorn, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Societal Sustainability, expressed his welcome: “The Faculty of Education congratulates and warmly welcomes all students into the Khon Kaen University Faculty of Education family. Being part of this camp, which has a long history spanning 22 years, marks a crucial starting point for self-discovery and planning your educational future. The Faculty is delighted to walk alongside you from this first step through the ‘I Want to Be a Teacher’ Dream Camp programme, now in its 22nd iteration, a testament to our pride and unity.” Dr. Kanjanasorn also shared profound advice, stating, “The quality of a child begins with us… therefore, we must cultivate excellent teachers.”
The Associate Dean further elaborated, “The content of the 22nd ‘I Want to Be a Teacher’ Dream Camp integrates academic instruction, learning base activities, and experience sharing with our current university students. This is designed to help everyone develop the concepts and essential skills required for modern teaching, alongside group activities that foster relationships, creativity, and an understanding of their professional roles. I must emphasise that the teaching profession forms the vital foundation for driving national development. Each participant represents an important part of our future, which cannot afford to lack quality educators. I wish everyone a joyful learning experience and hope you grow into excellent teachers for society.”
Mr. Sukrit Sumranbamrung, Chairman of the 22nd ‘I Want to Be a Teacher’ Dream Camp and a student at the Faculty of Education, KKU, stated, “This event aims to inspire clarity in high school students about pursuing the teaching profession at the university level and to reinforce moral, ethical skills, and the teaching spirit among the participating university students. We intend for the students to genuinely experience life within the Faculty of Education campus and understand the teaching experience in the authentic EDKKU style.”
The programme was scheduled to take place from 24 to 27 December 2025 at the Faculty of Education and Khon Kaen University Demonstration School. Activities included learning base rotations, experience sharing sessions, and formative activities such as campus life immersion, learning the modern teacher’s role, practising collaborative skills, developing leadership and knowledge transfer abilities, and networking among various participating universities. A total of 438 participants attended, comprising 180 secondary school students (M.4–M.6), 240 KKU Faculty of Education students, and 18 students from network universities.
