Royal Address to Graduates

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously delivered a royal address to the Khon Kaen University graduates of the academic year 2025:

“His Majesty the King graciously appointed me to represent him in the Khon Kaen University graduation ceremony for the academic year 2024 today. I wish to express my appreciation to all the distinguished honourees and graduates who have achieved this honour and success. I also deeply thank the university for bestowing the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences upon me.

A graduate is considered a person of intellect, possessing comprehensive knowledge and wisdom cultivated through studies and thoughtful deliberation. The individual is thus highly regarded as a bundit (graduate). Moving forward, each of you will utilise the knowledge and wisdom accumulated during your university education in your daily lives and careers to establish yourselves and achieve stable progress.

To accomplish this, graduates must always bear in mind that even though you have completed a high level of education, learning must not cease. It is essential for everyone to dedicate themselves to seeking additional knowledge and continually refining their intelligence. This knowledge and intelligence are not limited merely to academic disciplines or technological proficiency, but must also encompass sound judgement, the ability to discern right from wrong, and an understanding of what should be done and what should be avoided.

If the graduates cultivate this knowledge and wisdom diligently, they will become genuinely intellectual individuals. They will be able to apply their intellect to navigate through all obstacles and challenges in life and career, thus achieving lasting prosperity. Each of you will become valuable human resources who contribute to the progress, culture, and sustainability of society and the nation, ensuring a prosperous and happy home for us all.

In the name of His Majesty the King, I wish all new graduates and everyone attending this ceremony happiness and prosperity.”
