KKU Faculty of Dentistry Holds Auspicious Ceremony to Launch Mobile Dental Unit and Express Gratitude to Donor

The Khon Kaen University (KKU) Faculty of Dentistry, led by Assistant Professor Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty, along with the executive team, lecturers, and staff, organised an auspicious ceremony to launch its new mobile dental unit. The unit, a generous donation from Mr. Viroj Srisai, was launched at the Faculty of Dentistry, with representatives from supporting agencies and distinguished guests in attendance.

During the ceremony, Assistant Professor Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, the Dean, reported the objectives of the event and expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Viroj Srisai for his invaluable contribution of the mobile dental unit. The Dean emphasised that the unit is vital for the Faculty’s public dental health services, directly helping to raise the quality of life for the public.

Following the expressions of gratitude, the mobile dental unit underwent a traditional blessing ceremony (Jerm), performed by Phra Khru Kamon Kittisarn, Abbot of Wat Sawang Suttharam, to ensure auspiciousness. The event also featured a lottery draw for prizes sponsored by Mr. Viroj Srisai, which offered encouragement and cheer to all participants on this important occasion.

The mobile dental unit is designed and equipped with complete, standard-compliant dental equipment, enabling it to accommodate various fundamental services, including initial examinations, scaling, filling, and extraction, as well as oral health promotion activities.

The unit is primarily focused on serving vulnerable populations, the elderly, children, and individuals who face limitations in travelling to healthcare facilities. It will play a significant role in extending the Faculty’s dental service mission to society and enabling the Faculty to more effectively expand its public dental health projects into remote areas.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, extends its deep appreciation and admiration to Mr. Viroj Srisai for his valuable contribution, which serves the greater public and society. The Faculty is committed to utilising this support to its maximum potential, furthering genuine and sustainable societal development.
