The Graduate School, Khon Kaen University (KKU), visited and held discussions on academic cooperation with administrators from the College of Medicine, Chang Gung University (CGU), Taiwan (QS World University Ranking #668), on 19 November 2025. This visit was conducted under the framework of the established Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Khon Kaen University and the College of Medicine, Chang Gung University.
The meeting aimed to foster the strong existing academic relationship and enhance mutual understanding regarding institutional development directions and the shared pursuit of international academic missions.
The KKU delegation was led by Professor Kiatichai Faksri, Dean of the Graduate School, and Assistant Professor Jutarat Petchraburanin, Director of the National Phenome Institute and Assistant Dean for Graduate Strategy, Graduate School.
Participating representatives from Chang Gung University included high-calibre administrators and academics: Professor Thomas K.F. Lei, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, CGU; Professor Bertrand Tan, Department of Biomedical Sciences/Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine, CGU; and Professor Ming-Ling Kuo, Director of the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, CGU.
Administrators from both institutions presented information concerning their core missions, namely teaching and learning, research, and academic services, facilitating an exchange of perspectives and promoting a clear understanding of each other’s responsibilities. Following the presentations, in-depth discussions focused on key issues aimed at developing joint curricula and research approaches, including:
- Developing Integrated Graduate Curricula.
- Designing Teaching Programmes and Curricula, including the feasibility of establishing a 3+2 Bachelor–Master Programme.
- Translating Scientific Knowledge into Industrial Applications.
- Exchanging information on Facilities and Research Infrastructure, specifically laboratory resources, equipment, and technologies supporting biomedical education and research.
This visit and academic discussion represent a significant step in expanding international academic cooperation networks and demonstrate the commitment of the Graduate School, Khon Kaen University, to elevate the quality of education and research to global standards.
