On 12 November 2025, the Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University, held an academic collaboration meeting with the School of Nursing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, at the SJTU Pudong Campus. This meeting aimed to expand opportunities for international education and research collaboration.

The delegation from Khon Kaen University was led by Assoc. Prof. Ampornpan Theeranut, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Nursing. She was accompanied by Assistant Professor Somjit Muangpin, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Assistant Professor Wiphawadee Potisopha, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Global Affairs; and Ms. Hathairchanok Leevichai, International Relations Officer. The KKU representatives met and held discussions with the SJTU executive team, led by Associate Professor Dr. Bingqian Zhu, Associate Dean for International Relations, Research, and Graduate Studies.
The key areas for collaboration strategically focused on three main aspects:
- Student and Staff Exchange: To facilitate mutual development and expand international experience.
- Joint Research Development: To co-create new nursing knowledge and innovations.
- International Activities and Programmes: To enhance global nursing competencies and capabilities.
This negotiation marks a significant milestone in establishing a robust cooperation network between these two leading nursing institutions. The partnership is expected to elevate the quality of nursing education and research to international standards, ultimately benefiting the development of medical and public health personnel in both nations.
