KKU Delegation Attends SEASREP 30th Anniversary Conference

A delegation of faculty members and master’s degree students from the Mekong Studies Program and the ASEAN Studies Center, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Huso), Khon Kaen University (KKU), participated in the SEASREP 30th Anniversary Conference. The event took place on 13–14 November 2568 at the Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.

The delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thananan Boonwanna, Chairperson of the Mekong Studies Program Management Committee; Asst. Prof. Dr. Keeratiporn Jutaviriya, Director of the ASEAN Studies Center, KKU; and Sirichattra Rakkarn, Ph.D., Lecturer in the Mekong Studies Program.

During the conference, Mr. Pitiphat Chanthamat, a Master’s Degree Student in the Mekong Studies Program, was honoured to present his academic work on the topic, “The Development of South Korea’s Soft Power in Vietnam.” This presentation was a key part of the international exchange platform focusing on Asian Studies knowledge.

The conference served as an important forum, gathering academics, lecturers, and experts from various nations, including Australia, Japan, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, and others. Participants engaged in the exchange of academic knowledge, discussed research advancements, and collaborated on developing networks for cooperation in Southeast Asian Studies.

The SEASREP 30th Anniversary event holds significant importance for advancing knowledge in Asian Studies, establishing cross-border academic linkages, and promoting mutual understanding within the rapidly changing Southeast Asian region. Khon Kaen University is proud to have been part of this crucial international platform and remains committed to creating knowledge and fostering sustainable collaborative efforts to further regional education.
