From 25 to 30 October 2025, Master Kritphet Trachu, a student at Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, Secondary Section (Faculty of Education), garnered international recognition after being selected as one of the representatives for the 2nd cohort of Youth Peace Ambassadors to the Vatican City State. He participated in a mission to create media for peace alongside other Thai youth, organised under the auspices of the Thai Youth News Centre Association and supported by Somdet Phra Maha Thirachan, the Abbot of Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm (Wat Pho).

The five Thai youth representatives travelled with the Wat Pho delegation to attend an audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the newly elected Pope, in Rome and the Vatican City State, Italy. They participated in two significant global ceremonies: the Papal State Inauguration Mass at the Paul VI Hall and the General Audience held at St. Peter’s Square, marking the 60th anniversary of the Declaration Nostra Aetate.

On this momentous occasion, the Thai youth delegation was granted the honour of seating in a special section alongside representatives from Thailand and had the opportunity to take a photograph with His Holiness the Pope. They also presented their concept of “Peace from the Hearts of Children,” which resonated with the Pope’s address, where he stated, “Our religions all teach that peace originates from the human heart.”

This mission provided an invaluable experience and represents a profound source of pride for the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School. The school celebrates a student stepping onto the global stage as a Thai youth representative to disseminate the concept of peace to the world community through the power of youth.
