Khon Kaen University Faculty of Education Marks 57th Anniversary with Merit-Making Ceremony and Fundraising

Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Education celebrated its 57th anniversary on September 13, 2025, with a traditional merit-making ceremony, including almsgiving, Buddhist chanting, and a pha bangsakun ritual. The event was presided over by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, and took place at the Faculty of Education.

The religious ceremony was led by Luang Por Saithong Techathammo, abbot of Wat Pa Huai Kum, who headed a procession of monks receiving alms. The gathering saw a large attendance, including Associate Professor Issara Kanjak, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education, university executives, faculty administrators, lecturers, senior staff, personnel, and students.

The day’s activities commenced in the morning with the offering of dried food and necessities to the monks, followed by Buddhist chanting and the pha bangsakun ritual, intended to bring blessings to the faculty and all participants.

This annual event reflects the Faculty of Education’s commitment to preserving cherished traditions, fostering volunteerism, and promoting unity within the university community. It also served as an occasion for lecturers, staff, students, and alumni to express their strong ties and pride in the faculty’s 57-year legacy.
