KKU Dentistry Faculty Conducts Annual Fire Safety Training and Evacuation Drill
The Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University held its annual fire prevention, suppression, and evacuation drill for 2025 on Wednesday, August 27. The training took place in the Nithipavee Srisuk Conference Room on the 5th floor of the Chalermprakiat Building.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Assistant Professor Dr. Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj. In his opening remarks, he welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chupong Thongkamsamut, KKU’s Vice President for Physical Resources and Environment, along with other guest speakers.
The primary objective of the program was to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and essential skills needed to prevent and respond to fire incidents. A key focus was placed on the safe evacuation of personnel from a high-rise building, a critical measure to mitigate risks and potential losses during an emergency.
The training featured lectures from several university experts:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chupong Thongkamsamut, Vice President for Physical Resources and Environment, spoke on public disaster risk management and Business Continuity Management (BCM).
- Mr. Morakot Subin, Director of the Division of Security and Safety, presented on fire response plans and evacuation procedures for high-rise buildings.
- Ms. Aranya Boonkam from the Division of Public Utilities and Environment discussed building safety standards and Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) management in the workplace.
The afternoon session included a practical evacuation drill based on a simulated scenario. The hands-on training was led by a team of more than 15 instructors from Khon Kaen University’s Division of Security and Safety, including Wiboonsin Pinijmontri, Wirun Phuboonlap, Damrong Horasit, and Arthit Raisungnoen, to ensure personnel could learn how to respond effectively in an emergency.
In his remarks, Dean Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj emphasized the critical importance of constant preparedness to prevent and minimize potential losses from a fire. He expressed his gratitude to the instructors and all attendees for their participation, expressing his hope that the knowledge
