On August 27, 2025, from 08:30 to 16:30, the Office of Education and Digital Affairs, together with the Office of Academic Administration and Development, Khon Kaen University, organized the training workshop “Transform Curriculum Implementation: Empowering Outcome-Based Education with Generative AI” aimed at elevating curriculum quality and teaching standards to meet international benchmarks and labor market demands.
In the morning session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darunee Chotissthayangkul, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, delivered a lecture and workshop on “From Insight to Action: Using AI-Powered Gap Analysis for Curriculum Redesign.” She emphasized the core principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), highlighting measurable and transparent Learning Outcomes (LO) that focus on what students can actually perform. Participants explored the POWER framework—Clarity of Focus, Designing Down, High Expectations, and Expanded Opportunities—while practicing Generative AI-driven gap analysis to review curricula. The workshop included CLO–PLO mapping to identify learning gaps, designing authentic/performance-based assessments and rubrics, and synthesizing stakeholder feedback for a more efficient and transparent curriculum development process.
In the afternoon, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wannawipa Kaewpradit Pholpinij, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, presented “Program Specification Preparation: Guidelines and Recommendations.” This was followed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wattana Patanakul, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation, who spoke on “OBE-oriented Curriculum Design with Generative AI.” His lecture demonstrated AI as a collaborative design assistant—supporting PLO–CLO development, curriculum mapping, lesson planning, active learning design, authentic assessment, rubric construction, and AI-powered gap analysis—while stressing transparency, bias detection, data protection, and the role of experts in oversight (human-in-the-loop).
The training provided faculty members and academic staff with both conceptual frameworks and practical tools to review and redesign curricula and courses aligned with desired graduate competencies. It is expected to enhance teaching quality, better meet societal and labor market needs, and strengthen Khon Kaen University’s readiness for international quality assurance standards.
