August 22-23, 2025 – The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, organized major academic conferences by jointly hosting the 18th International Conference on Educational Research (ICER2025) and the 5th National Teacher Induction Expo (NTIE2025). The conferences were held under the theme “Empowering Future-Ready Education: Bridging AI Innovation and Human Skills for Industry 5.0” at the Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre. Attended by over 450 academics, educators, researchers, and faculty members, the event aimed to foster knowledge exchange and drive future educational innovations. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, with a report delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjug, Dean of the Faculty of Education.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, stated in his opening address, “On behalf of Khon Kaen University, it is my great honor to welcome all participants to the ICER2025 international conference and the NTIE2025 national conference. The gathering of academics, educators, and researchers from various countries and within Thailand demonstrates a strong commitment to sharing and creating knowledge for a sustainable society. The contributions of everyone here will help us achieve our goal of improving education and society in the future. I extend my gratitude to the keynote speakers, invited speakers, all presenters, and our sponsors, and I wish this conference great success.”
The conference atmosphere was intellectually stimulating, featuring special lectures from world-renowned keynote speakers. These included Professor Dr. Mike Trevisan from Washington State University on “Establishing Trust in AI: Toward an Industry 5.0 Ethical Framework,” Professor Dr. Ting Ting Wu from National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, on “AI Synergies for Future-Ready Education: Integrating Generative AI, Computer Vision and Learning Analytics to Transform Teaching and Learning,” and Professor Dr. Panita Wannapiroon from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok on “AI Nexus for Future-Ready Innovation: Synergizing Human Potential and Intelligent Technologies.” Furthermore, the event featured workshops, showcases of research and academic services from the Faculty of Education, and academic sessions for both oral and poster presentations, encompassing over 190 research works from both conferences combined.
The organization of these two conferences served not only as a platform for knowledge exchange and the creation of strong academic networks but also reinforced the role of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, as a leading institution. It highlighted the faculty’s commitment to researching and developing educational innovations to meet global changes and prepare educators for the challenges of the Industry 5.0 era, ultimately contributing to the sustainable advancement of educational quality for the nation and the ASEAN region.
