KKU Council Chairman Leads Delegation to Visit and Exchange Knowledge at Prince of Songkla University Science Park

On 8 August 2025 at 10:00 a.m., Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Council, led members of the University Council and executives on a visit and knowledge exchange at the Prince of Songkla University Science Park in Songkhla Province. The visit aimed to foster collaboration in science and innovation between the two institutions.

The delegation received a warm welcome from Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of Prince of Songkla University, together with the university’s executives, and Asst. Prof. Kamron Pitaks, Director of the Science Park. They presented an overview of the park’s operations in supporting research, developing innovations, and promoting technology-based enterprises to meet regional needs and drive the southern economy effectively.

Dr. Narongchai remarked, “Universities should be open spaces for learning, exchanging ideas, and fostering an atmosphere conducive to the advancement of knowledge and innovation. Thailand is a hub for people of diverse nationalities and cultures in the fields of science, technology, and social sciences. With recognition and support from society, these strengths can be developed to their fullest potential.”

He also stressed the importance of understanding the differences in social structures across regions, emphasizing that universities must operate with prudence, maintain credibility, and build trust within society. “The Science Park at Prince of Songkla University is an excellent example of linking research and innovation with economic development. This collaboration will build upon existing knowledge and create new opportunities for research that addresses the needs of society and industry.”

The visit marked an important step in strengthening cooperation between Khon Kaen University and Prince of Songkla University, advancing research and innovation to drive sustainable economic and social development for the country.
