From 1–4 August 2025, the Center for English Language Excellence (CELEx) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Royal Police Cadet Academy, organized an English Camp under the framework of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The program aimed to enhance English proficiency among Thai youth and strengthen academic cooperation between the two leading institutions.
The KKU delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Orathai Piayura, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Asst. Prof. Chongrak Liangpanit, Ph.D., Acting Director of CELEx, was warmly welcomed by Professor Police Major General Dr. Sorat Klapwilas, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Royal Police Cadet Academy. Over 80 participants, including police cadets and KKU students, took part in the camp held in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom.
The camp focused on developing English communication skills through interactive, hands-on learning. Activities included team-building exercises, role-plays, presentations, and joint learning sessions with Thai and international instructors. Participants gained not only language skills but also confidence, critical thinking, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding — all essential for 21st-century professionals.
Assoc. Prof. Orathai Piayura emphasized that English is more than a communication tool; it is a gateway to global knowledge, cross-cultural collaboration, and leadership in the international arena. She noted that the camp provided a meaningful learning experience that fosters both language skills and the human capital needed to thrive in the global workforce.
This initiative marks another milestone in KKU’s mission to build a national academic network, equipping young people with high-quality skills to meet future challenges and reinforcing the faculty’s role as a leader in socially driven, sustainable education.
